Finding the best paralegal is always a difficult challenge. The Paralegal Directory makes the selection paralegal process easier. Paralegal profiles contain the knowledge, skill and expertise of each experienced paralegal.

Step 1: Select a U.S. State

We have all fifty U.S. States, plus Puerto Rico and Guam. For International paralegal and legal professionals, please consult the menu tab “International” in the top navigation menu. Select the U.S. State where your legal issue or problem is located.

Step 2: Select a State County Area

Within each U.S. States, we have listed the County areas. We have tried to align the County areas with specific judicial court districts. Select the County area where your legal issue or problem is located.

Step 3: Select a Legal Practice Area

We have an extensive list of legal practice areas. Select the legal practice area that most closely applies to your specific situation. Within each legal practice area we have included examples of issues associated with each area of legal practice.

After you have selected the STATE, COUNTY and PRACTICE AREA, Click the SUBMIT button.

Step 4: Review Paralegals in Legal Practice Area

The search results will display a list of Paralegals. Review their professional profiles. A local paralegal is typically your best source of information. We suggest that you make contact with several paralegals to find a paralegal that you are comfortable with. Expertise and fees will vary. We recommend an in-person consultation before deciding to retain a paralegal.

What Legal Work can a Paralegal do?

Paralegals can be delegated any task normally performed by a lawyer, as long as the lawyer supervises the work, except those prescribed by law. Paralegals can review and organize client files, conduct factual and legal research, prepare documents for legal transactions, draft pleadings and discovery notices, interview clients and witnesses, and assist at closings and trials. The paralegal may also aid the lawyer in administering trusts and estates, assisting with real estate transactions, drafting certificates and corporate documents needed by state law to form various business entities as well as assisting in client-related matters that do not require a law degree.
