A Litigation Paralegal assists an attorney to prepare legal cases. Some common duties of Litigation Paralegal paralegals include preparing legal documents, conducting witness interviews, investigating facts, performing legal research, drafting pleads and legal briefs, and other tasks to assist the attorney in preparing their casework.

In Litigation Paralegal matters, Paralegals and LDA's, known as Legal Document Assistants, cannot give legal advice, represent a client in court, or select, explain, draft, or recommend the use of any legal document to or for any person other than the attorney who directs and supervises the paralegal.
